Dear Friends,
As we reach the end of the Year of the Priest, let us reflect on the words of St. John Vianney, the patron saint of priests.
“ The Christian’s treasure is not on earth but in heaven. Our thoughts, then, ought to be directed to where our treasure is. This is the glorious duty of man: to pray and to love. If you pray and love, that is where your happiness lies.”
Please continue to pray for your priests.
We began the Year of the Eucharist on Holy Thursday. The Church of St. Jude has been designated as an official Pilgrimage Site for Eucharistic Adoration. For more information about the Year of the Eucharist, visit the Diocese of Joliet Website.(http://www.dioceseofjoliet.org/ye/YOEPlenaryIndulgence.asp) There are many resources there to help you fully celebrate this Year of the Eucharist.
The Church is open for Eucharistic Adoration daily from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. I invite you to stop in and make a visit. It is a perfect way to block out the noise of the world and seek Jesus in the silence.
May God bless you and your family and bring you closer to Him.
